Guest guest
OK, so it didn't go so well. I tried to eat ravioli tonight. I am 4.5 weeks post op and really getting itchy with the blenderized diet. I am banded shut with no permission to remove and i have about enough room to squeeze in my Advil that i still take every once in a blue moon. So tonight i figured, let me try something new, FOOD. Marsha, you got me going on this, i was really thinking of you! I think because my tongue is still mainly numb, as is most of the roof of my mouth AND that i am banded shut, i had a really hard time MOVING the food around. I thought that if i chould chew it on side teeth i would be ok, but i cannot do that banded. i tried chewing it on front teeth, no go, i tried just getting it in, rolling it around a bit and pretending i was doing something, then swallowing it whole. i did that with about 3 pieces and decided it wasn;t worth it! I blended. I also think i have a soft spot where bone is supposed to grow, so my OS tells me, on roof of mouth where they split, so this adds to the " degree of difficulty " . Man am i JONES-ing for a chew.
Guest guest
Hi , I'm so sorry your having trouble with solids. I was only loosely banded for the first 2 weeks, I had about a 1 finger opening. I'm free now but I think I'm getting more bands on Thursday! I've done really well with food, but I do kind of swallow it whole, sometimes I do revert back to liquids though just to get full fast because it takes me a very long time to eat solid food. It will get better soon! Marsha > OK, so it didn't go so well. I tried to eat ravioli tonight. I am > 4.5 weeks post op and really getting itchy with the blenderized > diet.
