Well, i went to see my OS 4.5 week post surgery and he still feels

that all is OK and that i am not THAT off center. he does however

think that i am a tad off, very slight. he did a lot of looking,

measuring, holding clear rulers up to my face, etc ..... I guess i

feel better and i look forward to healing more and more each day. one

side of my smile is not as " flexible " as the other, so my smile is a

little lopsided which i think is adding to this, my nose is wider and

he said that may or may not go down. i tend to think it is still

being pulled by the tissue to the sides as that is still a bit

swollen. to look at me you would not think i am swollen, but i can

feel the difference and i know all of you know what i mean. I

suppose i can say i went through a major freak out moment, but i

still won;t be sure until 8 months or so from now when most if not

all of the healing is complete.

I did jam a baby toothbrush in my banded mouth to brush the inside of

my mouth. he said that was ok and that it is now the OD that is in

charge of those elastics and that i could take them off at his office

and get a real good brush if i wanted. what i got tonight was the

closest to GREAT as i have had in a long time. it felt wonderful.

he did say my bite was closing on the side tht doesn't touch, but i

can't see the effect of that yet. a one sided almost one tooth bite

is kind of annoying!

Back to the OD on Thursday. Oh and yes, it WAS the surgeon who cut

my upper wire, it did not break. katie
