Brackets is off the tooth!!

I was just brushing my teeth and noticed that one of my brackets is

really really loose and not on my tooth at all it is just kind of

hanging on the wire. I have to wait until two oclock to call my

doctors they are all out to lunch. What will they do because i am

five weeks post op and i haven't been cleared for othro work yet.

Any one had this happen??

My OD expected me to come back from surgery with brackets broken

off. I did have one that was completely broken loose, and when I

went back in for my first post-op appointment, they bonded a new one

on. It won't do any damage to have it off, but I'm sure they'll

address it at your first appointment post surgery.

I would suspect that they'll just leave it where it is until you're

ready to see the ortho again.

The bracket on my right lateral incisor came loose, but I didn't even

know it until I went back to my ortho. He knew I'd have a short haul,

post-op, so he didn't even replace the bracket. Just glued the wire

to my tooth with some white glop. I wasn't crazy about the

arrangement, but it apparently did what he wanted. At that point, the

brackets mainly were used as " handles " with which to affix elastics,

at least for me.
