Guest guest
Hi all, Well, I am just home from my surgery to remove wisdom teeth and correct an overbite and everything went great (surgery took place yesterday at @ 3:30pm). The swelling around my upper mouth and chin is still pretty bad but there is very little bruising. The first few hours after surgery was rough because I was bleeding so much out of my nose and mouth, although I don't really remember too much except having many wet cloths wiping my face and a really bad burning potassium IV a couple of times (I think that was actually the worst part of this whole procedure!) I also coughed up blood but it wasn't bad as I thought it would be. It just finds its way out of your mouth through your teeth. It was worth it to look in the mirror this morning and see my new bite-- which is perfect!! I can't believe it. So far, so good. I just hope this swelling goes down soon because I look like a scene from Poltergeist. It would also be nice to be able to eat and drink without it all going on my shirt!! Oh well, all to be expected I guess. And I am still going to that concert on Tuesday!! Good luck to everyone else having this done. W. Guest guest
Thanks!! The worst part is over, right!! I am feeling pretty good except for the swelling. I thought by today (Day 4) at least it would go down but nope, instead it has spread to from my lower chin and face to my upper face and eyes, although I guess I do look more proportional now (yeah, now WHOLE face is huge!). I'm guessing I need to give it a few more days for steroids, etc. to wear off. I'm sure glad to be among the ones who've made it through all this though!! Woo hoo other side!! > > Hi all, > > > > Well, I am just home from my surgery to remove wisdom teeth and > > correct an overbite and everything went great (surgery took place > > yesterday at @ 3:30pm). Guest guest
Hey Jo, I think the concert should be okay b/c we do have actual seats, not general admission so there shouldn't be pushing and shoving. It's also an outdoor arena where there is quite a bit of open space even during concerts, so it is a little more safe in that respect. The music will not be too hard core although the group I'm seeing, Rush, does put on one awesome 3 hour show!! My surgeon actually instructed me to go, as long as I feel up to it. Based on how I feel today, I think I'll be able to do it-- I'm feeling pretty good except for Stay Puft Marshmallow face on Day 4!! Take care! > > Hi all, > > > > Well, I am just home from my surgery to remove wisdom teeth and > > correct an overbite and everything went great (surgery took place > > yesterday at @ 3:30pm).
