Guest guest
My 13 year old daughter had upper/lower jaws moved/4 wisdom removed/palate extanded/and chin done...APRIL 15. Now in braces w/bands, but she is still swelling badly on 1 side more so than the other and on that side has a knot on her lower jaw that hurts. OS says " all this takes time, screws not trying to back out, swelling looks bad because she is so thin, and it may take 6 more months to get completly well " . I AM GETTING WORRIED, should I be? I will be away until late Sat night...but please post info!

Guest guest
I had the works done as well. I am a 5'10 " woman who weighs 127 pounds. Thin. I am able to feel many screws on my face and my dr said tht is because i just don[t have a lot of fat and that my tissue is thin, like the rest of me. i am 5 weeks post op and my sides of my face are still uneven. i look a LOT better than i did, but i am still swollen. i am giving it a year, just because. I cannot say i feel totally comfortable, my speech is not correct yet, my nose is widened more than i would like..... i really would give all of this time. As my sister who is a nurse said, your face does not know if it has been through surgery or in a car accident. the " trauma " is severe and it takes a long time to heal. All i keep thinking about is 9/11 and all the healing that people are going through who survived (or any other tragedy) and i am put right back in my place. I AM WELL, healthy and healing. Chin up. > My 13 year old daughter had upper/lower jaws moved/4 wisdom > removed/palate extanded/and chin done...APRIL 15.
