Hey everyone! I just had jaw surgery last Tuesday and now am

restricted to a liquid or soft diet for one more week. I'm bummed

because I love to eat and cannot find anything remotely tasty. Plus I

am vegetarian. Please post any suggestions, or advice. Thanks

Beans, thinned with broth add cheese and sour cream ( if you do

dairy) mashed avocado with lemon and salt. Potato soup with green

onions and cheese. I'm sure I can think of a few more. I'll post some

other ideas if I come up with them.

I found this a while back and tried it out. It's awesome! Substitute

Vegetable broth for the chicken broth and skip the corn and you'll be

all set.

I haven't had surgery yet, so I don't know how well this would work at

1 week, but this is on my list of things to eat after surgery.

Cold Avocado Soup:

Hope this helps!

There is a site called " allrecipes. " Therein is a subset of

vegetarian recipes, including lots of avocado soups, a grand

soundingi peach-ginger soup, vichysoisse and other things. (And do

try making vichysoisse with sweet potatoes and a bit of lemon juice,

too. It's just splendid, hot or cold.

It's not forever... Just go day by day.

Take a look at the Links where there are a number of sites listed

for recipies, some specifically for Vegetarians.

You can also make a vichysoisse using sweet potatoes that's really

tasty. I do it by sauteeing some leeks or sweet onions in butter,

then putting in three cut up and peeled fairly large sweet potatoes.

the recipe I use calls for chicken broth, but I don't see why you

couldn't use plain old water or veggie broth just as well. It also

calls for about a cup and a half of dry white wine, but again, just

use the same amount of another liquid if you don't like those. The

recipe then calls for about a cup of cream -- I've even used skim

milk instead, though, although I usually just use plain milk. Cook it

until the sweet potatoes are soft, then blend it, in batches, to make

it a sort of puree. Yumm. Or thin it more, if you wish. It can also

be zipped up with a bit of ginger, and it can be frozen, or served

hot or cold.

Really, really good!
