Seeing your surgeon's partner, post-op

If it's any consolation to you, my first appointment post-op with the

surgeon was actually with his partner. My guy was taking a long

fourth of July to be with his family. His partner did just fine by me.

It was actually kinda funny. The morning of my surgery, I had seen my

surgeon go speeding right past me in the OR to talk with this long,

lanky, basketball-player looking guy in a green suit. My doc saw me

looking at him, and he put up one finger, as if to say " Just a

second. "

I got sorta annoyed. I mean, I was the one he was about to slice

open, no? How could anybody else be more important than that?

When I first saw his partner, that post-op appointment, I took one

look and burst out laughing. It was none other than the basketball-

player fellow, who is my surgeon's partner and assisted him in my

surgery.

Turns out he's also best friends with the son of one of my best

friends, the one who took me to the hospital at midnight and drove me

home afterward!

Cammie.
