Guest guest
" All the treatments take time to kick in so sometimes you have to wait, then you find out this med isn't working so you have to start over, it is not simple to control it, but it can be done. " Thanks Liz, OK, so now it's starting to make sense to me. I've been told that with the MTX, it can take anywhere from 6 wks to 3 months for it to start kicking in. I thought it referred to the pills HELPING the symptoms, but apparently the side effects also go hand-in-hand. So while my RP may start to feel better, I may start to feel worse too because of the side effects.... Sandy, Thanks for telling me about your injectible MTX not making you nauseous. How much do you take a wk? I can't stand the headaches (I used to have bad migraines all the time when I was 10 years old), but sometimes I'll wait longer than normal to complain... the silver lining in all of this is I get the headaches on Saturday even though I start MTX on Tuesday. If I got headaches the next day, I wouldn't be able to go to work abd that would be bad since I work Mon/Wed/Fri. Marilyn, Good luck with your MTX increase. Looks like we're following a parallel path here. Good to know that we're " partners " in our MTX regimen. I'll try the ice on the back of my head when I get that headache next time, claudia. Funny that I was dreaming of having fallen in snow and not able to get up (I remember particularly that the back of my head was on ice...this caused me in real life to get up because of breathing problems. I woke up Sat. morning thinking the snow dream caused my headache because I was probably holding my breath...). Nothing correlates here but seems to come, in some weird way, into full circle... hyuck! ===== When choosing the lesser of two evils, I always like the one I haven't tried. -- Mae West __________________________________________________
Guest guest
, I was on .8cc of Metho a week. I was on Cyclosporine at the same time. Neither med worked for me so I have been off the Metho for 7 weeks. I am now on Cytoxan. Just a note to anyone who may go off Metho. After being off Metho for 3 weeks my PCP told me I did not have to take the Folic acid anymore, within 2 weeks of stopping the Folic acid I had a mouth full of sores. I'm back on it again and the sores are gone. My Rheumy said it takes a long time for the effects of the Metho to get out of your system.
