Guest guest
Hi guys, I've been reading all of the posts, not much time to post, just wanted to say good luck to all august patients from a june-group- member who is doing and feeling great! I am almost 7 weeks post op and had my ortho appointment 2 days ago. It wasn't my first ortho appointment post-op since I had been seeing him when he was turning the expander for my pallate every day for 5 days post-op. This had created an enormous gap between my front teeth that I had to walk around with for 4 weeks...time does fly! At first I was a little unconfortable walking around with this gap, going to work, seeing people and especially kids staring at me in amazement...but that went away real quickly. But I was of course ecstatic when my ortho told me 2 days ago that it was time to close the gap! It's amazing that in 2 days, the gap is closing like crazy, I give it a few days more and it's completely closed! I'm so happy...And I got more happy news: my expander is coming out in september!!! Whoehoeee parteeey! I guess only people with expanders can really appreciate my happiness that thing (even though I got used to it) is a pain in the but! With eating, talking, saliva, cleaning...Only 4 more weeks and it's out, out, out!. I think I am going to take it home, put it on the driveway and drive over it with my car 20 times...But it did do it's work, I have a nice wide smile already (used to be a narrow upper jaw person). At almost 7 weeks post-op I have just a little bit of swelling on my jawline and near my nose, tiny bit of numbness left on part of my lip and chin, my bite is coming around (I'm wearing 1 elastic on either side), and since my ortho appointment, my occasional TMJ pains have gotten much less!! I had asked my ortho and he said cause my bite is way off (upper is wider than lower) he was expecting this. But that is being fixed as we speak, so I guess it's patience again! I think I already mentioned this one time but the one thing I am forced to learn through this whole process is having patience... O I am going to put pictures up next weekend! Good luck all, Nathalie
Guest guest
Sounds like great news all around for you Nathalie and patience is the order of the day! I'll be getting upper (forward), lower (back), and a palate (split) expansion coming up August 17. > Hi guys, > > I've been reading all of the posts, not much time to post, just > wanted to say good luck to all august patients from a june-group- > member who is doing and feeling great!
