Guest guest
Hi Everybody! I wish I'd found this site earlier! I'm now four months post op and I love my new face! I had a bimaxillary osteotomy, for an anterior open bite, which involved breaking my upper jaw in four places and it was so worth it! I had my braces off four weeks ago and to be able to start putting this behind me is great! I was really lucky all my feeling has returned and I really didn't have much swelling! I managed to eat roast potatoes four days post op. The surgery was so much better than I thought it would be, the only thing I didn't expect was so much bleeding from my nose! It took ten days to stop. Did anyone else have this? It was my teeth I really hated but I had no idea how much the surgery would change my whole face, even my eyes look better. I never realised before how difficult the position of my jaw made things, I can now sleep breathing through my nose. For anyone thinking of surgery I would recommend it. good luck!
