Guest guest
My insurance states that it will cover " orthognathic surgery that is needed to fix a significant functinal impairment that can not be adequately repaired with orthodontic treatment. " Is this statement a common statement that most insurance companies have for this coverage? Also, how have all of you who got this surgery covered been able to prove that it was medically necessary and a functional impairment? I appreciate all of your input. Guest guest
For my son's surgery, the os office took care of the letter for the insurance. This woman did all of the scheduling and insurance paperwork, and was very familiar with which insurance companies were easy to work with or not. We have Harvard Pilgrim and she said that they were very good about approving jaw surgery(the approval only took 2 weeks). This was done at Mass General in boston Areti
