Guest guest
Today, I will see Dr. Baggs (Yeah!!!!) for my six month post op. apt. It has been a pretty quick six months. I made a lot of new friends here and while I was out and about. Some of the people online I have had the opportunity to meet and I am so thankful for them. There are some whom I have not met (Francisco, Kay, just to name a few) who I hope to some day. I can tell you that I noticed that my pouch has begun that dreadful stretch thing they speak about. The normal amount that I eat at a setting (usually 2 ounces and on occasion I have eaten around 3 ounces but no more than that) is changing. I had made tacos and I normally just have the seasoned ground beef with a sprinkle of the cheese in the shell. I usually eat 1/3rd of it but I ate the entire taco. I sort of panicked a bit but then I calmed down. Its okay but I know that I have to be more mindful than ever now. I don't have time to be comfortable anymore. I guess its about always being aware and not forgetting the basic principles. This phase of my journey is sort of scary to me but I know that I am going to be alright...I just have to see it for myself. So, keep me in your thoughts and prayers as I begin this phase of my journey in this weight loss process. I have lost 93.5 pounds and it feels great. I have 26 more to lose to reach my goal which is 130 pounds. I am so happy that I made the choice to do this surgery. My cholesterol went from 249 to 108. My bp went from 150-160/185 to 106/45, my diabetes test range went from 250s to 75/80 (normal range) and I have not had to use my three different asthma medications (basically medicine free since the day before surgery). I am truly happy which is something I never realized before...I really was not happy. Everything has gotten 150% better in my life. I just wanted to thank everyone for their support and encouragement. For people that are going through the process, go through it because it is worth it. Your life will NEVER be the same. I am sad about not seeing the gang at KP Richmond but happy because I am moving on. Thanks for listening! Guest guest
Wow! 6 months post-op already. That is amazing. You are an amazing person and I feel priviledged to have met you at the Vacaville meeting. Your notes are always so thoughtful and true. You are an inspiration to me. Congratulations on the amazing weight loss and being so close to goal! Remember...you eventually need to eat a bit more in order to sustain yourself and get in the required amount of nutrients (I think the " normal " pouch increases to 6-8 ounces per meal. Have fun at your appointment! I see Dr. Baggs next week for my 3 month check-up and release to the final stage. Tina > Today, I will see Dr. Baggs (Yeah!!!!) for my six > month post op. apt. Guest guest
Yahoo!! This is great news Pam! I can't wait to hear how happy he is with your progress. Dr Baggs is so wonderful. I had my six week appt with him Tues. You have accomplished so much! I can't wait to be in the same boat you are! Our pre surgery #'s were about the same for diabetes and blood pressure. Isn't it amazing how no meds make you feel so free? I was wondering when that stretch would occur and I am kinda scared of that as well. You will do great though! Look how well you have done this far! You aren't going to backslide! You have the power! Go girl! I am so proud of you! Kay > Today, I will see Dr. Baggs (Yeah!!!!) for my six > month post op. apt.
