Guest guest
Hello All, I have a question? I and 1 month post -op and i find that when i eat i am having some discomfort. I guess in English it hurts when i eat. I can able have a few bites and then no more because the pain. I talk to the Dr. and he tells me that it take=s some time to get use to it!. Dose any one have this too. I chew, and chew and chew very well but still find that i am having a hard time. I unfortunately missed my Richmond meeting on Wed. I remember last meeting some one was sharing with us that she was in a lot of pain also when she ate re even had something to drink. If some one could help a bit i would appreciate it very much. Al sow i feel a bit discouraged that i do not see my weight going down, I have been on the same weight now almost two weeks, I feel that i am doing something very wrong and i can bare the feeling that i will not succeed in this. I don't know! Thanks Miriam __________________________________________________
Guest guest
Don't get discouraged! My body did the same thing and held the same weight for a couple of weeks and then it went down like 7 pounds. Your body has been through major trauma and it doesn't know what the heck you did to it. Be patient and keep doing what you are doing and the scale will move. I've averaged over the last 2-1/2 months, 4.5 pounds a week. If you look at my week to week weight loss, some weeks I didn't lose anything (like while I was on vacation I only lost 1 pound in 10 days) and other weeks I lost like 7 pounds. I will be 3 months post-op on the 24th of August and I'm down 52 pounds. Be patient! It'll happen. Guest guest
Hi Miriam, Are you eating enough? That could be the reason why your weight doesn't go down. If your body doesn't get enough fuel it will go into starvation mode and hold on to everything you eat. So don't get discouraged and keep up the good work the weight will come off. Are you keeping track of your calorie intake? You can do it for free on www.fitday.com that way you will know if you are getting enough to eat and also enough protein. Guest guest
I had those days too! It helps to hear from others who have gone through the whole thing. Husbands HAVE to try and help! I still have those days, in fact. After only losing 1 pound during my 10 day vacation, I was fit to be tied. I'm better now, but only because the scale has moved 5 pounds since Tuesday. When you are eating so little and food is not the be all or end all, the scale needs to keep moving in a downward direction or I feel frustrated and discouraged. I usually only weigh myself once a week now. At first I was weighing daily but it gets frustrating when it doesn't move. Have you taken your measurements? I know at 1 month out I had already lost like 7 inches off of my hips and 5 inches off of each of my thighs. That made me feel better when I didn't think the scale was going down fast enough. Hang in there. You are doing GREAT!!! Tina > > Hello All, > > I have a question? > > I and 1 month post -op and i find that when i eat i am having some > discomfort.
