I am also having the surgery at Richmond. It has been a slow process for me, and sometimes I have a senior moment but for me my first appointment at Richmond was a introduction class> They talked about the program, the surgery the good things the not so good things - and I beleive we had a weight in at that time. > Yes you may have been accepted into the program but only the surgeon, after he see you, makes the final decision. My appointment with the surgeon was after I went to all the classes. When I finally saw the sugeron he told me I had to loss and X amount of weight and stop smoking before he would schedule a actually date.So to-date I have lost the %10 required and in the process of quiting smoking. Wedesday I had my weight in appointment and was given the pat of the back and a slip to have my EKG done and also Tested for Drugs - tobacco kind ----. They gave me a appointment in Sept 9th and was told that if my drug test comes out clean they would then give me a date for the surgery.Yes and Yes and Yes some more >>>>>>I am also scared and on an emotional roller coster!!! Some days I am looking forwarded to having this surgery expectionally after reading this site and how successful other people have been...and then I have days when I have my doubts and concerns.Where do you live??? I live in American Canyon, that is between Vallejo and Napa. Hope this has helped, hang in there and keep posting.Lucia

Guest guest
Hi Lucia, Somedays are like that for me too, but not so much anymore like it use to be,sometimes loosing weight exhausts your body especially when your loosing quickly, i think your weight loss thus far is good , my doctor/surgeon is the one that told me that the rapid weight loss can make you tired, its a lot of work to lose the weight ! ColleenLucia wrote: It has been an interesting jouney - I am finding out every day what I can tolerate and what I can not; example - I had a small bite of bannana this morning and it is just sitting there in my throat. Let me start from the beginning - I had my surgery Nov 14 and to-date have lost 49 lbs (wishing it was more and wondering if it should be). Dr. Fisher Richmond is my doctor. My surgery went great I have little to complain about - My only down fall is I get tired quickly. Just last week I did some shopping, came home a just did a little housework - vacumm & mop my floors, took a shower to get ready for work and I felt like someone just sucked all my energy right out of my body. Instead of work I went to bed. Is this normal???????I hate breakfast which is odd for me because it used to be my favorite meal of the day - I am thinking of doing the no no and get a protein drink. If anyone knows of a good drink on the market please post.To the new members - Welcome - this is a good group and you will get mega support as you go thru this jouney and life changing events.Lucia Colleen
