Guest guest
Sorry, one other point: I just wanted to say it's not all doom and gloom but rather lessons learned. In spite of all the physical pain, I've had some great times in spite of the illness! And I look forward to my upcoming surgery. And again, the SCD was great.>> Hi everyone, Just wanted to say that after trying every mode of therapy> for my colitis, nothing seems to work anymore and I'm opting for> surgery. Guest guest
Are you going to continue the SCD after surgery? All the folks who have had surgery on this list recommend broths, soups and easy to digest foods afterwards, like the intro diet. You said you stopped adherence to the SCD after 5 months. Why did you stop? If you have read BTVC it is recommended to be on the diet with strict, fanatical adherence for 1-2 years. Otherwise you feed bad bacteria, yeasts & molds and they become stronger and more difficult to eradicate. Just sayin’. Best of luck with the surgery – I hope you find relief and healing! Guest guest
I am sorry to hear you have come to this, and sincerely hope the surgery brings you relief. You stated that you have made mistakes, but you should not blame yourself for your illness. At this point, support and good wishes are what you need I agree with Carol to give SCD a try even with surgery. As you know, you will need much healing and will still have some intestinal tissue left- to keep healthy. Best wishes, PJ > > > > Hi everyone, Just wanted to say that after trying every mode of therapy > > for my colitis, nothing seems to work anymore and I'm opting for > > surgery. Guest guest
Good Luck, this is not the end of your illness...nor is it time to give up scd, or a yeast-elimination plan. Whether you use scd, gaps, bee's website, or whatever works for you...do something to maintain health. I had colorectal cancer at 29, had surgery, am here to talk about it today...and am now healing my whole family with a combination of the above programs to suit us. This is not your end, it is your beginning. Just my 2 cents. Go get em. Guest guest
*waves hand* I had surgery in September, but won't quit SCD anytime soon. Good luck with your surgery ! Oh, and your birdie is a cutie! My little one is frustrated at my lack of gurging skills too ;-).
