Guest guest
Here is my website that shows the combinations I've made (there are maybe 2 posts): http://shelly-delhi-belly.blogspot.com/ It's really easy. Just wash some veggies really well. Decide what liquid you want to put them in. You can juice some veggies and use that juice (and throw the pulp in too). Water works. Chop up the veggies to the size you want. The food processor helps if you like small shreds of veggies. Mix and match however you like in a large bowl. Sprinkle in a pinch or two of sea salt (I like a little for flavor). You can pour in the liquid now or wait until the veggies are in the container and then pour in. I try to pack the veggies in the mason jars first and then put the liquid in, all the way to the top of the jar. The veggies are going to want to push their way up so I use a ziploc bag full of water or just a ziploc bag folded up and placed on top to keep them under the liquid. That's the key. Then put the lid on a leave out for 4-7 days and transfer to a fridge. It's really simple. You have to learn to love sour foods because these can get really sour and tangy. > > Did anyone have any bowel problems with well cooked veggies/fruis? When I have fermented/cultured veggies (low/no salt) my bowels are fine, but when I try to introduce cooked veggies, I have problems. I realized this about a month into doing SCD and wondered why I still had bowel trouble. Once I took the cooked veggies/fruit out, everything was ok with just meat and cultured veggies/fruits. > > Did anyone else encounter this with cooked stuff? >
Guest guest
http://wholesomegoodness.net/2008/06/10/cultured-veggie-tutorial-with-step-by-st\ ep-photos/ this is a good tutorial as well. some people add a " culture " to the mix that is store-bought. i think you can add the powdered yogurt starter as well. you can add whey too but I don't think that's scd legal. it's fine without these. the culture just means more baceteria in there. > > > > Did anyone have any bowel problems with well cooked veggies/fruis?
