Guest guest
Hi everyone, I stir fried some organic green cabbage last night (i haven't tried it in about 4-6 mths) with olive oil and salt and pepper and a couple of hours after eating it my hands were red, hot and a little itchy and i had little red bumps on the inside of my wrists and down my arms a little. The bottom of my feet were itchy also. I felt a little fluttering type feeling in my chest - maybe a little like palpitations. The rash was gone this morning and i had a little gas this morning but other than that my stomach felt fine. Could this be a sulfite allergy or just an intolerance? As of last Thurs. i've only been eating low carb SCD to fight candida so could it be die-off? I don't think it did this when i tried it a while back. I didn't eat cabbage tonight but have a little of the itchy hands and wrist rash again - mostly on my left arm. Hmm, maybe it's either one of the few foods i'm eating or maybe a side effect of coming off of the liquid carafate that contains illegal sorbitol. Any ideas? Also, my plan was to eat only low carb SCD legal foods that i'm tolerating for 2 weeks and then start an antifungal (very little and maybe once a week to start off) and i'll change the type of antifungal every 2 weeks. Does this plan sound ok? At what point should i introduce a new low carb SCD food - after the first 2 weeks? Thanks for any info or help! It itched something awful and looked like something halfway between poison ivy and hives. I also had dizziness, weakness, swollen glands, dry throat, gas, upset stomach, & general malaise. Ultimately, I did wind up taking a hefty dose of Benadryl (antihistamine) which did NOT help. That's how I finally knew it wasn't allergic. I have a lot of serious allergies so am always keen to the possibility of reacting. My recommendation would be to try to notice what flares your rash/symptoms (foods/meds/other) and make notes on the symptoms if they progress. If you suspect a certain food or medication, stop the food and/or get in touch with your doc to get his/her input on whether the med is causing problems. I hope that you start to feel better soon. Guest guest
A few weeks into the diet, I had a rash like this. The dermatologist did not identify it as allergy, and had no real idea what caused it. He gave me some topical cream, and it went away after about a week. I don't know if yours is allergy or not. I believe mine was related to die off. Keep a record of what you eat and if it is related.
