Are we suppose to eat watermelon? I don't see it on my " list " . Just

wondering if there is some reason I shouldn't be eating any watermelon

occasionally.

Tina,

I remember when I ate watermelon! I ate like a ton of it and was

shocked that I could eat so much of it so early after surgery. I

asked Dr, Umbach and he was like,, its water!! It go's right through

you! LOL now maybe you should not eat to much but for me it was fine

Hi Tina,

I tried it and I was sooooo gassy afterwards.

It sure tasted good at the time though.

I have heard it isn't so good for us newbies....

Hi Tina

I eat watermelon and cantelope, but not lots of it, i think watermelon has a lot of carbs/sugars in it, but its refreshing.

I can eat quite a bit of it and it doesn't bother my pouch at all! I

love canteloupe too. I was just wondering if I was eating something

that was taboo!

Thank you Shell!

I first had it when I was about 6 week out and it didn't make me

gassy. Guess I was lucky!

Thanks Kay!

I eat it too Im not sure of the reasoning behind the dont except for

maybe a problem with an accidental swallowed seed. Hmmmmm, wonder why

its on the no no list.

Coincidently I just read on another site that watermelon can cause

rapid increases in blood sugar and therefore cravings. It says that is

why the south beach diets doesnt recommend it.

Hmmmm...it doesn't seem to give me cravings. Thanks for the info

though. Good to know! I'll be on the lookout for cravings after I

eat it.

Hi Tina

I have been eating watermelon every other day! We eat that in our house like mad.

I have not had any dumping or anything. Granted I only eat a little bit and that is it, but no problem for me.

Personally, I am 5 weeks out now and I can have cantaloupe but watermelon didn't agree with me.
