Ok, so I am now confirming that I am a stress eater. When I am upset - that is all I want - a really good meal. I am trying to move away from that and have figured out that my back up to eating is SHOPPING. Well that's great....but....at this rate I will be broke in no time - any advice as to what others have tried?

Water...

No point in going shopping now...it's wasting money. I can't remember

when was the last time I bought something. I'm not even splurging on

shoes because I hear your feet get smaller. Instead of the mall I go

to the gym now. I'm finding myself there more than I ever could

imagine. ha!

Good luck!

Gym...water....ok - worth a try. Stuck at work so the gym will have to wait - but water hey - who knows.

Forget clothes and shoes - I know all those sizes are going to change so much it wont be worth it. My sustaining purchase today are wireless headphones. I am enjoying them quite immensely I will have to say - but I know they were purchased out of stress and not because I really needed them - lol

Im an emotional eater too and so far havent really found a solution.

The last 24 hrs have been emotionally draining for me and guess

meeting it head on instead of stuffing it down with food!!

When I am faced with no choice I try to at least pick food that resembles something good for me and not junk and desserts. Last night I had a steak with blue cheese, onions and mushrooms - so of all of it the blue cheese was the only part not so great so - its a start.

Of course, there's always shopping in thrift stores. . . I went out

today to Savers to pick up stuff for my daughter for back-to-school;

$37.00 later we left with three pairs of jeans, two short overalls,

and a shirt. Gives me hope for the future that I'll still be able to

afford clothes for work while I'm " melting down " .

Hi, Colleeen -

I agree shopping in regular stores would be a LOT more fun. . . esp.

now that you're down to sizes where they fit! I was thinking ahead,

though, and figuring that during the initial period when it sounds

like sizes may change every week or so it might make sense to plan on

hitting the thrift stores. Sounds like I'm not the only one to think

of it, either.

My fave, hands-down, is Savers. There's one in SJ at Bascom & San

; I think there's one in Milpitas, and I don't know about other

locations. But they sort the clothes by size, they tend to have a

huge selection, they have a decent return policy, and they take credit

cards. Since my daughters prefer shopping there to the mall, what's

not to like?
