visit www.vitalady.com or obesityhelp.com and click on why we do

protein supplements. That should help. I wasnt a believer in them

either as I went thru Kaiser Richmond too, but I do know that I FEEL

better and more in control when I use them.

Are you talking raw or cooked?

And what is the final decision

on Sweet N Low...I know a while back someone was asking about liquid vs.

packets?

Packets have illegals. So far as I know, the liquid is OK if it is

saccharin.

I don't know if you have Boston Market. It is a chain that does rotisserie chickens. They sell them whole and cooked. At 05:11 PM 12/29/2009, you wrote: Does anyone know if Boston Market Chicken is legal? Are you talking raw or cooked? And what is the final decision on Sweet N Low...I know a while back someone was asking about liquid vs. packets?Packets have illegals. ,

I would watch out about something like this..

Boston Market is sorta " fast foodie " and fast food joint love adding illegals.

If you must pick up a chicken I would go for Whole Foods plain ole' chicken-

with no salt and pepper.

But, as Marilyn's mantra " Make your own.. Make your own "

Only way I got better.

HI,

I have been to Boston Market several times- pre SCD. I would not eat their

chicken. Here's why: to start with, we don't know what is processed in the

chicken to begin with- some have broth and additives added even before they are

cooked. Then- the Boston Market chickens are very flavorful- which means they

are cooked with all kinds of additives- many of which have to be illegal- like

milk solids and sugars. Then, they are sitting next to the (illegal) cornbread

and potatoes- a sure set up for cross contamination.

Making your own is the only way to avoid this, and check the chickens that you

buy at the supermarket for added broth and " natural flavorings " .

I cook a few chickens at one time and freeze them for future use if I need a

convenience food.

I know of the chain, but no, we don't have them here in N'Awlins. You

would have to write to them and find out if they do any injection of the

meat or if it's cooked in anything. Based on what I've seen of the

restaurants when I was visiting friends, I'd be reluctant because there's

way too much likelihood of cross-contamination.

Whole Foods has a " naked chicken " which is just the chicken,

cooked on the rotisserie, which I have been told is okay, unless they

were idiots and cooked the naked chicken in with other, seasoned

chickens.

most chain restaurants these days have nutritional information on their web site, including ingredients.

From Boston Market's site:

1/4 White Rotisserie Chicken: CHICKEN (BREAST AND WING PORTIONS CONTAINING UP TO 15% OF A SOLUTION OF WATER, SEASONING [sALT, SUGAR, CHICKEN STOCK, GARLIC POWDER, NATURAL FLAVORS AND MALTODEXTRIN] AND CARRAGEENAN AND SUGAR). Contains: SOY.

So I guess that answers the question :)

Several are hard to pin down though.  I did some on-line work for a group that had you go to websites and look for health information on food items on the menu.  Several were soooo impossible to find.  I thought everyone had info on the website.  The worst--Starbucks!

I agree. A few years ago I quizzed the deli at my grocery about a

chicken or something; I think it was a chicken. Just salt and pepper,

they said. Well, it looked red! I kept pushing her a bit until she

admitted that yes, it must have paprika to look red like that, and

well, yes, it had " some spices and stuff " , which she said she didn't

know what were and couldn't find out. A far cry from " salt and pepper " !
