Guest guest
Hello everyone, I decided to slow down and take time to check in and give a report on myself ) I've been reading most/all of the daily digests and they are good. First, I would like to tell Marilyn I'm sorry about the news of your mother. I was 31 when my mom died 13 years ago. I know how hard it is to let go. For all the newbies (and oldies), I'm Tonya, age 43, diagnosed with Diverticulitis last Dec. 7. Also had an abscess in my colon. Was **sick as a dog**. Somewhere around the first of Jan. I stumbled across this group and SCD book, and went on the diet on Jan. 13. I've almost made it 10 months!!! I'm proud of myself. IN THE BEGINNING................... I remember always being sooo tired! I couldn't even stand up in the kitchen to peel apples. That went on for several months! My diet was very limited. I lost weight. Absolutely could NOT tolerate my homemade yogurt from my own dairy goats. NO Bananas! NO almond bread. IN THE MIDDLE......................somewhere in June, I thought I had picked up a stomach virus. If I did, it lasted 6 weeks. It also took 5 more pounds with it! I believe now it was a flare. Still no Yogurt. No Bananas. Can do homemade almond bread. I finally recovered. Was scared. 1O MONTH UPDATE.................... I feel wonderful! I have much more energy, have stopped losing weight, can tolerate " dripped yogurt " which I love. I still don't eat gobs of it but can and do eat it. Will take a bit or two of banana but not much or else it bites back ) I have actually eaten some fresh (raw!) pineapple, pear, grapes. I've not been able to do that all year! I still love homemade bread made with almond flour! I cook up some apples with cinnamon and then smother that bread in butter and put apples on top and it's better than a stack of pancakes!!! That's the truth! I can truthfully say that I've eaten more apples this year than in my entire life. Yes, I still sometimes want things that I'm not suppose to have and NO, I do not eat them because I'm dedicated to the SCD. The biggest improvement I have seen is.................................................... MY NERVES/DEPRESSION IS A THING OF THE PAST! Yes, that's right. I used to have bad nerves but lately, they don't even bother me. I believe that getting rid of all the sugar and chemicals in my body had a lot to do with it. I'M SO HAPPY! GLORY TO GOD! Well, I better take a break. That's what happens when you don't check in regular. You end up writing a book. LOL. OH, and Ms. Terry, I'm still eating my chicken livers. Would you believe I've turned into a " liver loving lady? " Oh, and thanks for not telling me how bad those little devils pop when you are frying them!!! WOW , it hurts! OK, I'm really going. I'll check back in later. BLESSING, TONYA
