Guest guest
Sorry he is having such a rough day. Grace used to get like this commonly for no apparent reason, or so we thought. Finally we found out, by Dr. Cohen, that she was actually having migranes. We, too, had taken her to the ped. with no answer, although our ped is wonderful. Does he ever bang his head on things when he is like this, ex. walls, floors, furniture? Also Grace would always pull at her hair and scratch at her forehead and eyes. Within a few days of starting Periactin for her migranes, we have not seen one since. Just a suggestion. Best wishes, hopefully he is feeling better soon. Guest guest
Sinus pressure can really hurt. I have had both migranes and sinus headaches, neither are something I would ever want again. But unfortunatly, I am sure I will. I was asking about the banging on the floor ect., because typically when she has a migrane she purposly bangs her head. I do not know why, I guess she may think it helps. I have heard the saying "it hurts so bad I could bang my head against the wall." I never thought anyone literally did that. Also, with her migranes (the bad ones) she will get very ill looking and be very pale. Also her eyes usually get very dark circles around them. She has on a few occasions even vomited from them. Hope your little one feels better soon. It is terrible watching such little kids, in so much pain.
Guest guest
, Billy had about two months when he was 3-4 when he cried everyday, most of the time. This was right before his n-g tube was installed. Once it went in he stopped crying. He was hungry but couldn't eat enough to satisfy himself and got so hungry he couldn't eat. I know you said his blood sugar was ok but is this a possibility? Sound like time for a change of doctors. If she won't take his metabolic problems seriously she could be missing something. Some of the doctors we have had are of the " we can't cure them so we can't help them " mindset. The doctor can help with the symptoms. Goodluck Twana > he was crying from 135-430 est... > The dr. didnt seem concerned she never is. She never checks for metabolic problems when hes sick>
Guest guest
, Before we put in th G-tube, Asher would only eat a little because of GI dysmotility. Now I think he was starving and I felt so bad b/c I didn't know, no one knew ,why he wouldn't or, now, as we know, couldn't eat. It hurt too bad. And this, of course, led to continual and worsening fatigue and muscle weakness. I thought he was filling himself up as much as he wanted b/c he'd turn down really yummy food. But it was that it hurt too much to eat and, in an awful way, he would see the food, want to eat it, and couldn't b/c it hurt. Now with the G-tube, I have a much much happier boy who's gained 2 lbs. He does have some oral stimulation issues as well, but that wasn't all of it. Have you checked with a pediatric gastro doc? Anne R
Guest guest
, Some of what you described DOES sound like my daughter when she is coming down with an ear infection. She never cries, but she will start to sound increasingly 'wet' in her throat and need to be constantly suctioned (she has aspiration issues), she will also breathe from her mouth, insread of her nose. She also gets very tired and lethargic and apathetic. She will show little or no interest in playing or anything else, and will sleep excessively. She is nonverbal and has poor motor function, but will reach up and grab at her ear and pull her hair to show us she is in pain. She will also be more prone to seizures. All of these sx's can start when she is just coming down with an ear infection. I have often brought her into the ped when I see this and her ear drums are only cloudy or pink. Her ped is pretty proactive about treating Chelsea and usually gets her on antibiotics right away. I hope Zach is feeling better soon! e, Chelsea's mom(nonspecific mito)
