Guest guest
- what is dynavox? and why are people not happy with Zachary's signing? We heard that Abbey wouldn't attempt to talk if she had another form of communicating and so we didn't teach her - boy do I regret it! She mimics, and probably will talk one day, but she needs to communicate now! How is Zachary doing with fine motor skills? I'm afraid Abbey may not be able to deal with the signing because of her global delays. Sorry for all the questions!
Guest guest
Sheldon doesn't have good motor skills and it is hard understanding his signs but I think that when he can sign and we can understand him it's better than nothing. Sometimes he gets the wrong sign and he loses signs and he has trouble with signs where he can't see his hands (like Daddy and Mommy) but for him to be able to tell me that he sees a helicopter or a car or that his sister is home is definitely worth it. Right now he's learning 'doctor' and 'nurse' and although his signs for them don't look anything like the correct sign we think it's just great to have some idea what he's thinking and he likes learning new ones. - what is dynavox? and why are people not happy with Zachary's signing?
