Guest guest
I don't know what to do, I feel like I am regressing quickly. My Crohn's symptoms include: burning pain in the bowels, lots of smelly gas, bowels are semi-formed. I had a hard boiled egg for breakfast yesterday and snacked on dried bananas, these were the only two things that I hadn't been eating. What do people do for smelly abundant gas??? I have had it all night last night and all day to day so far. It reminds me of how I was pre-Humira. Been off Humira since July. Recently re-started SCD. Take LDN cream each night, not sure it it is helping though. But diarrhea seems to have subsided but I have also been tapering from 10mg prednisone down to 5mg currently. Any help??? Eggs always make my gas smell bad, and I know fruit can give people gas. Maybe that contributed? Peace =)Alyssa 15 yoUC April 2008, dx Sept 2008SCD June 2009 (restarted)No meds! Guest guest
Where did you bananas came from - I remember my mistake. Store-bought banana chips usually are made from not completely ripe fruits - easier to slice that way. So you have to remember that a lot is going on.First of all, everyone on SCD has times in which they regress. So just keep that in mind. It's part of our healing cycle - and it is a cycle - it is not linear. Secondly, you may have to stop eating the new food you introduced, but keep in mindas well that the prednisone might have masked a reaction to another food that you thought you tolerated at this point. It may be the new food -- which you easilytake away, but if symptoms persist, it is likely to be an older "tolerated" food. If you feel you are regressing quickly, you may want to consider increasing a few mgs of prednisone if you are becoming symptomatic. And then tapering even more slowly. When you get these kinds of symptoms, make yourself a big pot of meat or chicken broth,to take the edge off intestinal tract and have really simple, easy food for a fewdays. Breathe, don't panic. Mara

Guest guest
, If I recall correctly, gas is caused by food fermenting in the gut (someone correct me if I’m wrong). I would stop eating the dried bananas for sure. Dried fruit of any type is considered advanced. Also, commercial dried bananas might contain illegal ingredients, as well as being made from not-ripe-enough-for-us-on-SCD-bananas. And yeah, hard boiled eggs gave me gas at first too… Carol CD 21 yrs SCD 5 yrs From: BTVC-SCD [mailto:BTVC-SCD ] On Behalf Of Gramenz I don't know what to do, I feel like I am regressing quickly. And every bag of banana chips I've ever seen have been dipped in syrup of one form or another, too.
Guest guest
Dried fruits are very advanced. I would cut them out immediately.
