Guest guest
I know of several kids who have excessive thirst... did before he got his gtube and had to get all fluids that way. However, the sinus meds might be ones that dry you up and that could explain it. I wouldn't be alarmed that anything seriously new is wrong...but just wait and see how he is once he's off the meds and also how his output is. deb...mom to three great adopted kids... Guest guest
I don't think that's strange because shocked me last week. She drank 64 ounces of Gatorade in 8 hours. and at least 36 ounces of Koolaid within 2 hours of that. I thought it was odd but I have learned that will compensate for her own needs. Her body tells her when she HAS to drink. That day, she only urinated 2 times. One would say she was dehydrated but other than the drinking... no other troubles. I honestly believe that she knew that if she didn't she would have been sick. She did have a crash that night and slept 16 hours... so... It's happened 2 times since March for . I would keep an eye on it though because it could become something serious if not caught in time. maybe he knew he was dehydrating and needed more. Just a thought, Dorothy
Guest guest
Sorry that I really do not have any help for you. But, lately all we can get Gracie to take is milk or some other drink. It is very good for them to drink a lot on warm days, especially if he has autonomic dysfunction. The more hydrated they are on warm days, the less chance of heat exhaustion. But I am also concerned that Grace will lose weight if she is only drinking milk and not eating. Is your son eating fine?
