Guest guest
They can check your immune system with bloodwork. They have alot of different tests for checking the whole system, so I do not know a specific test. You pediatrician would know what to check. Although, with the mito, he has probally had these tests ran. Grace was always sick while she was in a daycare setting, and her immune system is normal. It actually got to a point where her GI told me to take her out of daycare, because the constant illness was making her liver even worse than it already was. My theory is that the with the mito, there body's just are not as strong to fight off the infection. Now I am home with her fulltime, and she is rarely sick. Best Wishes. Guest guest
Hi , I'm sorry National Jewish didn't help. That's supposed to be a good hospital but, as you know, it all depends on who you get as a dr. Can you get a 2nd opinion somewhere? Did they check Ig levels - IgA, IgE, IgM, IgG (including subclasses)? Did they check antibody responses to vaccines - see my note to Tammy? We went out to National Jewish in Denver to see if they could help but they only suggested washed (which of course did not work for her). Our new/current ENT is trying to make up his mind. She just had another CT and they called to say that it looked great. Now, I have great difficulty believing this as she has NEVER had a CT that looked anywhere near normal. I would certainly consider IVIG in a second. She got Synagis this winter and it makes a world of difference in her overall health. It is antibody based.
