gatorade

In regular Gatorade, eight ounces have 14 grams of SUGAR! It's actually

fairly rare that we run into problems with losing electrolytes, which is

about the only advantage Gatorade has over regular water or Crystal

Light. Another choice is the Propel. Look for something that is very low

in sugar, that you'll drink!

I'm going to strongly encourage everyone, whether pre-op or post-op, to

get in the habit of RTFL (Read The Freaking Label). This means the BACK

side, with the nutritional info, not just the side where it says " Now

Fatfree! " or something like that. Usually they put labels like that on

something that never HAD fat! Either that, or they took out fat (which

we malabsorb to a certain extent) and added sugar. Ever notice how many

fatfree salad dressings taste like you poured maple syrup on your salad?

ALWAY check the carbs and sugars, and look out for sugar alcohols, which

can be a very effective laxative for many of us, but in a painful fashion.

Oops, that feisty pill is kicking in!
