Guest guest
Kathie - If you are a self pay, just a tip: Make sure they need the EKG for you before you go have one! My PCP didn't want me to have the EKG at home, so she told me to wait until I got to Durham. When I got to Durham, they said at my age I didn't need an EKG. So, I did have insurance, but I was happy I didnt have to go through the bother. You may want to check before you dish out the dough!!! : ) (im 24) L. Guest guest
Dear Barbara, I am a bit of a lurker here...but thought I might have some info regarding your question. A few weeks ago (my dh is a Richmond patient) my hubby met his 10% goal and was getting prepared to go ahead with surgery. At that time the wait was 2-3 weeks. Unfortunately, he got called back to work (had been on a lay-off) and surgery has been postponed indefinitely until we can save enough money to cover living expenses for his post-op period. Speaking of that, what is the average (barring complications) post-op time off needed from work? Thanks and hugs, Kim B. Alameda In a message dated 8/17/2005 3:28:06 P.M. Guest guest
I had open and was off for four weeks. But I got the time covered through disability. Just like any surgery for any illness, it was covered.
