Guest guest
Hi, Where can you find on the UMDF website the info that you take to the ER so that they start the right amount of dextrose (I believe it's 10%) if your child is vomiting and cannot take food or liquids. Asher's 104 degree temp has ended but now he's throwing up and if he doesn't keep stuff down this pm, we've been told to go to the ER. I just want to be prepared if I can be. Guest guest
I do not know the site, sorry. But since your ped referred you to the ER, can they just direct admit. That is what Gracies pediatrician always does. This way we do not have to be bothered with the ER (knock on wood, but Grace has yet to be in the ER because of this.) The floor nurses always give us a weird look, because she is usually not too bad yet. But, as soon as they pull her medical file, and here her diagnosis, they are really good. Just a thought. Guest guest
Anne, Try going under umdf.org then under library then under umdf newsletters then under spring 2001. There is an article about cyclic vomitting and towards the end of the article it talks about the 10% you mentioned. Hope this helps!
