Guest guest
Last night we had to rush Caeden to ER. Had the Nissen done back in Feb for gi reflux the same time we did his G-Tube. Last night as well as once in the afternoon he started acting like he was going to throw up and was wretching so bad. Never seen anything like it. Anyway immediatly after these episodes he like looses conciousness and is real lethargic for hour and half after. ER didn't know what to think other than he has pneumonia which is nothing new. Anyway I was wondering as anyone had this happen to them. It just felt like to us to be a seizure especially as he was so groggy and floppy after. He wasn't normal for several hours after this. We have had a eeg which was normal a month ago but even our peditrician said unless u have an episode on the eeg doesnt always pick it up. He has never had seizures before. Thanks for any help (caeden 2.5 yrs mito myop)
Guest guest
Hi- has a Nissen and a g-tube also. We've had to re-do the Nissen after only 4 months, so what you are talking about sounds amazingly familiar. The first thing that I have to tell you is that a Nissen that has failed, or even herniated, can cause some big problems and even possibly block the airway. Have you been to see your surgeon, or your pediatrician? Ask for a swallow study to verify that the Nissen is intact, because problems can manifest oddly. Hope I've helped... Guest guest
Do you have a friendly vet in your area? Seriously, I had to buy fiberglass cast wrap to fix casts in the past from our vet. It was $6. Not sure about plaster, but they may have that, or the fiberglass to hold you through the week. I sure hope your baby gets better soon, that's a high fever, poor thing! s. NEED HELP My son Karter has just recently started seeing Dr. P. We are from Iowa, but still 2 hours away. He is in casts on both legs. He has been sick and running a 103.7+ fever. Has been to Dr's and on medication. He is sweating so bad his casts are starting to come apart around the toes. Have called Iowa City and talked to . She says he needs to have plaster added before his heel slips. Our local hospital will not release the plaster for me to do myself. And we can not get to Iowa City tomarrow. It is completly out of the question. I work in a retirement home and state is there. Does anyone know where I can purchase plaster? tabitha mom to Karter bl cf in what is left of his casts

Guest guest
Try a medical supply store/home medical supply shop. Some pharmacies as well may carry it. Any orthopaedic office you can call and see if tehy can assist-they often do castings in office/vs hospital. Just a couple of ideas. Poor Karter! Guest guest
Wish we were closer - I've got several rolls of both the under felt and the plaster for repairs from Dr. P. I'd be happy to mail them for later use if you think you'll need them. Chris Re: NEED HELP Try a medical supply store/home medical supply shop. Some pharmacies as well may carry it. Guest guest
Heard back from local ER. They will let family Dr. put plaster on IF we have dr's orders. Do I dare let anyone else fix his casts? Thanks for your help. I am going to check the vets (2) here in town. They have to be nicer than the ER nurse I just talked to. " you can not fix casts, have you been trained for that " Sometimes I wish things could just run smoothly. thanks Tabitha number23 wrote: Do you have a friendly vet in your area? Guest guest
Just to let everyone know Karters (14 months) fever they think is caused from roseola. Had him in ER last night when fever was 105.4. It has since come down to around 101. which I feel much better about. They did do blood work, but haven't heard anything. We are going to get a hold of local lumber yard and see if they have quick drying plaster in small rolls. Thank you everyone. If he has to be casted again, I hope not, we will be sure to get extra plaster before we leave. Tabitha faith slattery wrote: That's crazy. It's not like you're asking for narcotics!
