One thing that I like but rarely ate as a pre-op due to it's

astronomical fat content was corned beef hash. Check out a can next time

you're in the store -- it has tons of protein! Same with bacon -- ignore

the fat and look at the protein and you'll see it's a great post-op

food.>>>>>

Oh, yeah, : I LOVE corned beef hash... it is pretty rich tasting,

though. I found that I could only eat a little bit of it b/c it's so salty.

I didn't personally find any problems gas-wise, etc. because of the fat (but,

then again, I didn't eat it regularly, just on ocassion).

I love that and bacon -- I just don't make these things for myself (same with

eggs --- I can't make a good egg). So, I have them when we go out to the

diner. But, I did find these great frozen omlettes (called Chef's Omlettes)

and the cheese ones are delicious!!!! I'll have those often for breakfast!

There's actually a can or two of corned beef hash sitting in my cupboards...

I just haven't gotten the energy to make it yet for breakfast. And, I know

it wouldn't take toolong to fry up -- It's just that with the kids I usually

make it really short, sweet and simple in the a.m.'s and get into a pattern

of what we eat. I should break out that hash, man! :)

all the best,

  • 4 years later...

,

I had to sleep in a recliner for almost two weeks. I guess everyone is different.

After Surgery

I was wondering after you get home from the hospital, are you able to sleep in a bed?

-: Forgive me for having a brain fade. I am at my friend's

house using her computer, and at home I have it written down that it

is your re-birthday. Congratulations on a job well done, and keep up

the good work. BTW, how long did you wait before getting plastic

surgery, and who did you go through for your tummy tuck? Thanks

dear!! Love, Tamara

Hi yep its my rebirthday!!

I had my tummy and arms done one year after the WLS..on Sept 1.2004.

Kaiser Richmond did both at the same time. My tummy was covered for

medical reasons but I paid for my arms. Dr Yokoo is the name of the

plastic surgeon that did it for me.

I slept in my bed the very first night home. Granted, my husband

didn't! He got to sleep on the futon in the extra room. I just propped

myself up in the middle of my king size bed with lots and pillows and

slept like an absolute dream!

...I think people with "open" surgeries tend to be more comfortable in a recliner. I had LAP, and I slept in my bed (on my side, with lots of prop pillows.)
