Guest guest
Things have started to change for our little . For the past month or so she's been complaining that her arms and legs have been 'hurting' everyday. She'll come in from playing outside and say her knees hurt. We keep thinking it's growing pains. She tells us all the time that her legs hurt after recess and gym. Growing pains...Right? We both keep avoiding the reality of her illness. She has always had fatigue issues along with the vomiting and other symptoms. Her muscles have never been an problem. Could it be growing pains? She is 9 and weighs 57 pounds now. She did grow 1.5 inches last year...I don't know. Thanks. Mom to 9 Mito/Cvs/Gerd Chelsey 12.
Guest guest
Both of my kids have pain. My daughter has muscle pain. We got AFOs for her and that helps. Codeine helps her. My son has joint pain and the docs don't know what causes it and they don't know what to do. We let him soak in the tub, use a heating pad, etc.
Guest guest
, I have a 9 year old who has not been tested yet but has CP. MY 2.5 yr old son has mito myop. Laiken often complains of leg and shoulder and back pain especially after gym or outside play. We to put it off as growing pains. We just started her on baclofen (muscle relaxer) and what a difference. Hardly any pain anymore. She is 9 and wont wear her AFO's anymore so we do stretches every night that helps to. Caeden also is on baclofen and recently was put on valium we saw a huge difference in his demeanor when we started valium. He can have much more happy time, but then again started having more acute bouts of pain. So they put him on Naprosyn. It's used for arthritis. But the have found in kids it works on migrains and acute pain. It works like a charm. We give it to him only when he has pain and it doesnt hurt the tummy as much as motrin. So Caeden and Laiken are both comfortable with pain there is no reason any of these kids should hurt with the technology we have these days. I hope this helps
Guest guest
One of our doctors explained the pains in the legs as the areas where most of the mitochondrial is used. If she is over exerting herself, she will have pain.... You use your legs a lot in play and exercise.. I hope that helps.. When our boys legs hurt, they take a hot bath and feel much better...
