Guest guest
Okay, so I tried the enema. It was much easier than expected! The protocol says to do it once a day, increasing the vit e by two capsules every time. Do you think it would be okay if I did it twice a day, just to jumpstart the healing? Like, once in the morning and once at night? I really want this to start working so I don't have to go back on prednisone, but I want to make sure it's all right. I know I might be sounding paranoid, but I've never done this before, and I tend to be a little extra cautious when squirting things up my butt =) Thanks! Peace =) Alyssa 15 yo UC April 2008, dx Sept 2008 SCD June 2009 (restarted) No meds!
Guest guest
I don't think you should try 8000 IUs, especially without building up to it, if that is what you are talking about. Or, before you do, ask at the website. What receptacle did you use for it? Mara > Okay, so I tried the enema. It was much easier than expected! I was just going to still build up to it, but do it quicker. Like, insstead of 2 caps today, 3 tomorrow, 4 the next day, etc... it would be 2 this morning, 3 tonight, 4 tomorrow morning, 5 tomorrow night, etc...Or, before you do, askat the website. What receptacle did you use for it?I squeezed that caps out into water, then sucked them up into an ear bulb thing. Is that what you were asking? Peace =)Alyssa 15 yoUC April 2008, dx Sept 2008SCD June 2009 (restarted)No meds!
Guest guest
Alyssa, I'm new to the whole enema thing, but just wanted to mention that I was told to be sure I'm getting good probiotics if doing enemas. From what I understand the enema can sort of wash the good guys out with the bad and you need to repopulate. Maybe someone else can chime in here. Yeah, in this case, the point of the enema is not to clean you out as to coat the insides of the bottom of your intestines with vitamin E and there is very little liquid used - just 1.5 TBs, so while probiotics are always good, I don't think that it is that much of a danger here. Especially since I don't think the fluid is going to go up that high. Alyssa, do you know where your disease is located - how far down the intestines? Alyssa, did you just ask for an ear bulb thingy at the drugstore? Or does it have a proper name, for future reference? Mara

Probably a more cautionary approach is safest. Guest guest
Alyssa, do you know where your disease is located - how far downthe intestines? For the past few weeks it's just been in the descending colon, and I know because only the descending colon reflex has been activated when I visit the chiro. The rest seems to be fine.Alyssa, did you just ask for an ear bulb thingy at the drugstore?Or does it have a proper name, for future reference?Lol =) I think it just said 'ear syringe' on the package. It looks like a bulb though, and it's blue rubber. Peace =)Alyssa 15 yoUC April 2008, dx Sept 2008SCD June 2009 (restarted)No meds!

Guest guest
Alyssa, In the study done in Tehran, the doctors used the 8000 IU dose from the get go and sent the UC pts into remission. This guy from the curezone picked an arbitrary dosage schedule, so IMO, you could jump to the full dose without adverse effect. Guest guest
What is the purpose of a Vitamin E enema? Anyone know of a probiotic enema that Jini Patel has recommended? I would like to try that.
