Guest guest
Hi group, I don't post much but wanted to let the person who posted about 6 weeks ago that her child was on Keppra for tonic clonic seizures and for clusters. I am sure the post was about much more than this, but I zero'd in on the words " tonic clonic " and " clusters, " which describes my son's seizures and called my neurologist to ask him to get Keppra started, which he saw as reasonable. Well my son, who has 25 seizures a month on average, hasn't had any in over three weeks. He stopped having them the day he started Keppra. His profound regression still exists, but just not having to go through seizures is SUCH a breath of fresh air. I just wanted to say thank you and thank the Lord for letting me pick up on those words in your post. Thankful for this list, Liz Alabama
Guest guest
Liz, that was probably me=) I am glad to hear that Keppra is working as well for your son as it has for Chelsea. She also had an immediate decrease in her seizures when she started it in the summer of 2002. When she starts having many random seizures, without a distinct cause, and seizures in her sleep, that has been an indication that her dose needed to be increased. She has gone as long as 6 wks without a TC seizure, which is a good long time for her! She is going on almost 3 wks now (woohoo!), and was battling an infection in the lining of her lungs from asthma. She is much better now and doing really well at this time! What other meds does your son take for epilepsy? Chelsea was originally put on phenobarb and suffered a profound regression. She is currently being weaned off and has actually been more active recently now that her dose is almost 1/2 of what it was. e, Chelsea's mom(nonspecific mito)
