Guest guest
I was wondering if any one could shed some light on what we learned at the Doctor today. Joe has had an asthma issue all week. We have spoken to the doctor every day. He is on more steroids, inhalers, nebulizers , antibotics then I care to give him. However, he still was not improving. Today we saw the doctor and she had him do a Pulmonary Function test. After she got the results, she told me that there is a restriction in his lungs because he is losing his skeletal muscles. In addition, he has an obstruction in his lungs from the asthma. I was wondering what does this mean? I thought that if Mito patients start to lose their skeletal muscles and have lung restrictions it could be bad.??? Can someone shed some light here The doctor told Joe to keep swimming to keep his muscle strong and is having him use Albuterol before he swims.. What does the future hold with lung restrictions? Am I being overly concerned for no reason? Thanks for your help.. Marie
