Guest guest
Wow- that's a good one. I will leave the legality up to the more experienced. I would wonder about the supplement preparation, as a lot of hoodia is packaged as chocolate flavored chewables and the like that would be illegal. Can you even get pure hoodia? Congratulations on the wedding! Guest guest
, you'll have a very good time. I went with my son to Disney last year - it was beautiful. We also went on cruise this spring. Both times we had no problems. In Disney we stayed at condo type of hotel and they had kitchen. I would prepare my food and bring it with me to the park. I also have to mention - it was my son's 3 months die off - the worst he ever experienced, but we still had a very good time. I put him in a wheelchair, because he was very weak and used this wheelchair to carry stuff as well.
Guest guest
I was there on intro!! it is the only place I trust -or have thus far 21 months in - call ahead, email and MOST importantly speak to each chef with strict orders as they make each meal - get a kitchen fridge etc if need be - we stayed at the nick hotel and i wanted to take the chefs home !!they packed up what i needed to go into the parks etc - it is exhausting even not sick so i'd get a doc's note and wheelchair if need be eileen > > hI > been scd for 2 years with son > > my parents want to goto Disney with us as their 50th anniversary gift. > in Dec > to see xmas parade with kids. > ?? > I want to.... but is it too crazy?? > Can I pull it off? > > will it be a zillion dollars? > AHHH > > Thank you > > >
Guest guest
I went summer before last just 7 months into the diet. I cooked and froze a bunch of chicken breasts and boiled a ton of eggs. I packed all of that into one of those pyrex carrying cases with as many frozen packs as i could fit. 9 hours later when we got to the hotel, everything was still frozen solid. Even the eggs froze and that was in the middle of summer going from Louisiana to Florida so I'm sure it will stay even more frozen in the winter. I also brought homemade salad type dressing that I put on everything, honey, and I'm sure I'm forgetting some stuff. Eileen is right, I talked to the chef at each restaurant. Disney is super friendly. One time at the Rainforest Cafe I didn't feel like the person I was talking to didn't understand me so she went and got the kitchen manager. At one burger place, the manager cleaned the grill and made a hamburger patty just for me no seasonings just in case. I didn't get sick at all. I carried a cooler with chicken breasts and eggs. Twice I got salads (which I tolerated very little of at the time but was the best option) and added my own chicken to it. The staff at Disney is great. Have Fun and congrats to your parents!!!! Guest guest
I forgot to add that I requsted a fridge in my room because we stayed in the least expensive rooms at Disney and that worked perfectly for me. We were there 5 days. My favorite place to eat out was where you go around the world visiting other countries and we had a princess lunch. It was a real French like place and the big rotund chef came out. I told him my allergies and he said he's prepare something just for me with fresh everything including lemon juice. It was the best meal I have had in a long time... still to this day. You should send an email to: WDW.Special.Diets@... and explain your situation and that you are following SCD. They will send you information on how they can accomodate your requests. One of the forms they send to you allows you to write the details of the diet. ( They sent information to me about the SCD so at some level they are aware of it.) When you make a reseravtion for a table service restaurant the form with your dietary needs is sent to the restaurant. When you arrive for your meal, the chef will come out and go over the list of legal and illegal food with you. Overall it is a very worry free experience. Some chefs/restaurants are more creative than others. It is the only place that we go where we have no worries that they are doing it the right way. You can stay in a Disney Vacation Club (DVC) resort, one of Disney's timeshare resorts. The larger units have a full kitchen in them. If you decide to go that route, you should rent points from a DVC owner. One source for that is through disboards.com > --Skip >

That's pretty impressive. If only all dining out were like this. Mara

Guest guest
Skip, It sounds like you are an expert dealing with Disney chefs. We are going to Disneyworld in March for 10 days and won't be able to stay in a room with a kitchen. Would you be able to name specific restaurants you ate at in the parks and hotels where the chefs made the best meals for a special diet? I can only eat a dozen or so vegetables, chicken and fish. I don't want to end up with dry chicken breasts and soggy carrots for 10 days. Thank you!
