Actually Bliss was on Allimentum...yucky stuff. She didn't have any gastro issues after we changed except some intermittent reflux. She was so constipated before we were on it but everything leveled off after.

Have you had problems with diarrhea caused by the Alimentum? Zipporrah has had it since we changed on Friday. When we changed to the other types of formula she didn't get diarrhea, so I am wondering if the Alimentum is bothering her tummy. She isn't having as much tummy lurching/dry heaves though! Darla Re: ? any kids out there with g-tube for dysmotility/Deb Hi Deb,I totally understand about big BM's. Asher's still in diapers so at least some of it's contained and doesn't plug up the toilets. Asher also rarely has a BM - we often have to give him some sort of suppository to make it happen and that's after daily Milk of Magnesia that makes 'em runny anway (yuck!).I don't think the g-tube treats the dysmotility in any way. What it has done for Asher is to help him get the type of nutrition that he can absorb that doesn't 'cause the bloating and the pain. He gets almost entirely a liquid "predigested" formula (i.e. Alimentum) that seems to lessen the symptoms (except for delayed BM's) of the dysmotility. He will not drink it anymore and certainly not enough for him to grow on, so that's why he's gets it through the tube. He can swallow and chew, but non-liquid food 'causes too much pain when it hits his belly. He used to have the Alimentum when he was a baby but will not drink it all now and I don't blame him b/c it stinks!Anne R Please contact mito-owner with any problems or questions.
