Guest guest
Hi, I went grocery shopping to pick up a turkey breast and decided against it. Mostly because I don't understand all the ingrediants. I looked at the Butterball turkey breast and saw that it had additives to make it tender. What do I do for Thanksgiving day? Does anyone buy a specific brand? I have heard the fresh kill turkeys are a little harder to cook and can come out tougher. I would prefer picking up a frozen turkey from the supermarket. I used to bast a turkey with butter all day. Unfortunately I can only tolerate goats milk butter and there isn't any in my area. It is an hour drive to WholeFoods and if it isn't there I will call around. Is there anything else like olive oil and herbs that I can use or will it not cook the same? This is the first Thanksgiving I am hosting for my husband's family since I have been married. I used to be a good cook until you people ~ took away my goods!!! The good news is the sister who is coming to dinner eats healthy and is very open to the SCD ideas. So any suggestions would be great. Guest guest
What is WFs and TJs? I live in Florida and have never heard of them. I am hoping it is an abbreviation. Do you recall the name brand of the bird? Is WF WholeFoods? I have a shot at that! > > > Hi, > > > > I went grocery shopping to pick up a turkey breast and decided > > against it. They ship, and the birds are excellent. — Marilyn New Orleans, Louisiana, USA Undiagnosed IBS since 1976, SCD since 2001 Darn Good SCD Cook No Human Children Shadow & Sunny Longhair Dachshund
Guest guest
Val, ordering an organic one would work. If you want one from a grocer, Empire Kosher turkeys, found in many grocery stores may be SCD legal. The person at Digestive Wellness would know. Might be best to send her a note at Digestive Wellness, then can check with the company. Or she may have a letter from the company. > > Hi, > > I went grocery shopping to pick up a turkey breast and decided against it. Mostly because I don't understand all the ingrediants. No. The Bates smoked turkeys used to be legal, but they changed to using brown sugar instead of honey in their smoking. THe only ones which are legal are the oven-ready ones. — Marilyn New Orleans, Louisiana, USA Undiagnosed IBS since 1976, SCD since 2001 Darn Good SCD Cook No Human Children Shadow & Sunny Longhair Dachshund
