We were told not to use the steroid cream until after 6 weeks of placement. It has been only two. They said the cream will cause problems with healing. Has anyone else used it sooner and/or what do your docs say about the issue? Interesting that we were using hydrogen peroxide (per docs order) when the blister area came on and then changed to soap and water right away when Mayo doc's assistant told us to, but it isn't going away thus far. It looked better earlier today until she had dry heaves and made it worse again. She has had tummy leakage from the dry heaves irritating the area and slight yeast infection in the area as well. Thanks for the help. :) Darla Re: G-tube blister or something ? Darla,What you are describing is what our doctor told us was a granuloma. It came on in one day. There was not build up to it. If it busts open there is red and not white blood in it. This is the one that we treated with the steriod cream. It is also the one that we burned off with the silver nitrate sticks. It looks more like an irritation than a layering. The cream will shrink most of them. The other thing we did to slow them is to change to a soap and water wash only instead of hydrogen perioxide. It is a response to irritation (we were told) and if you irritate it by washing it with something too strong it will just make more of them.I know you don't want to run back to the doctor for everything but if it is something new maybe you could go this first time. Sometimes if you describe it well the doctors will prescribe the cream over the phone. Sorry it is hard.Twana> Zipporrah has a blister looking area on one side of her new g-tube site. I know it is NOT granulation tissue build-up. It is red and blistery looking.
