Guest guest
Hi My moms having acidity buildup for the last few days. She takes prevacid sometimes. Shes a crohns patient. She started scd 2 months ago. Before scd she always have a heartburn. She feeling lot better since shes on scd. She hadn't had any flareup or pain for 1 month now. Shes not bloated anymore. Shes been a strict vegetarian all her life. she started to eat eggs and chicken broth since shes on scd. The homemade yoghurt she makes tastes little sour. when she makes yoghurt she leaves it for 24 hrs. we always made yogurt at home before she leaves yoghurt for 6-7 hrs then taste was not sour I am suspecting is that causing her acidity. Her everyday diet is following Morning Smoothie made with avocado, Half ripe banana, yoghurt. Half banana, little papaya and guava After 15 minute 1 cup weak tea 1 boiled egg Around 11 am 1 banana or carrot cake Afternoon Cooked vegetables or yoghurt or chicken broth with almond flour bread 4 or 5 oclock 1 cup tea Carrot cake Evening Chicken broth or cooked vegetables or salad with eggs and drycurd cheese Snack at night Banana Sometime almond granola bar during the day She always been a strict vegetarian before starting scd she still only eats chicken broth and eggs no meat. She doing yoga breathing exercises that's helping her getting rid of bloating. Even when she had flare-ups it was only pain in the stomach and few rounds of throwing no runs.. Shes feeling better than before no pain but she feels weak sometimes. She does not want to eat meat just eggs and chicken broth. Shes on azathioprine 50mg 2 ½ tablets. Her GI wants to put her on humira soon that's was decided after last tests but before starting on scd. I would like to know if we are doing everthing right. I would like to thank everbody for posting all the info on this group. Kuljit Mann

This is because, when it ferments for 24 hours, all the lactose is used up, so there is no sweetness. If you think the sourness of the yogurt is a problem, you can drip, or drain it to make yogurt cheese. This will get rid of a significant amount of the sourness, and may help the problem. Many people have a problem with un-dripped yogurt, including myself. What is in the almond granola bar? Is this something you make yourself, or is it something you purchase? — Marilyn New Orleans, Louisiana, USA Undiagnosed IBS since 1976, SCD since 2001 Darn Good SCD Cook No Human Children Shadow & Sunny Longhair Dachshund
