Anne,

Have you seen the article "Pseudo-obstruction in Mitochondrial Disease" by Amy C. Goldstein, M.D. in the summer 2001 edition of the Mitochondrial News newsletter.?

Re: ? any kids out there with g-tube for dysmotility/Ann

Hi Anne,I'm curious about Zach and Sam's progressive pseudo-obstruction. How did it start? How did you see it getting worse? Asher rarely has a bowel movement unless he's given a baby suppository - and, sometimes, one doesn't work and we have to do it again the next night. It puzzles me so much b/c when he does go, it's very soft - almost, but not quite, runny. So, I feel like it's not constipation b/c it's soft, but he just isn't able to have a BM for days and days.Asher had all the bloating, distension, nausea, and loss of appetite before we started the G-tube. At least now he can digest and absorb the Alimentum. How is the TPN working out?Anne R Please contact mito-owner with any problems or questions.
