Judie,

If you crave a sweet, having a protein bar even with high carbs is a better choice. The only reason I thought of mentioning it is that some people may not realise that it is not the same as the protein bars some doctors might recommend. Also they might start eating several a day, thinking that it's a good thing. Then when they start losing weight slower, they can't understand.

I'm not a person who craves candy, but if Little Debbie came out with a high protein version . yummmmm

By the same token, carbs are absorbed by the body too. We DSers can have a sweet every day if we wish so even if the protein bars taste good and have sugar in them, they have a higher rate of protein lacking in candy bars and I would much rather eat a luna bar with 10 grams of protein than a candy bar for nutrition and at the same time it pacifies my desire for something sweet.Judie
