Guest guest
Morning everyone! First off congrats on the new surgeries this week! Woo-hoo! Second, I FINALLY got rid of that constipation. SO far so good this week, I am using that flax seed meal and no problemo! Third, I weighed myself and drum roll please........ I am UNDER 250!! YAY! It was a goal I had set for myself. I think that 2 hour bike ride I took yesterday helped! Now onto my question...... is anyone here taking Biotin? I was told it was good to help prevent or lessen the hair loss we have? Has anyone found this to be true? Anyway, I have been away from the board the last 5 days so I need to catch up! Have a great day! Guest guest
With the flax seed meal, do you just mix it in water? Lordy. You know it's weird, because every few days I will go...but even so, every week and a half or so, my body acts like it hasn't gone for ages. I took Dulcolex again last night, and spent the whole night getting up and going. And darn it...I think i have hemorrhoids now. Lovely. Nothing I ever experienced before. It hurts like a mother. Congratulations on getting under 250! that's great. I have some kind of special shampoo, I think it starts with an N, but I haven't started using it yet...no real hair loss that I am aware of. Is biotin a pill you take? I'm curious too...I'd like to avoid losing excess hair if possible, and I'm coming up on the time where that's going to be an issue....I hit eleven weeks this Wednesday, and I think it usually starts at around 3 months, right? Guest guest
Kay, about 4 months after my surgery, I noticed my hair thinning. I did start taking Biotin; it was recommended that I take it at a time that I was not taking the other multi vitamins. I didn't start it until after my hair was thinning. I also started using Nioxin shampoo and conditioner. I guess they both helped, because my hair is now thicker than it was before surgery. (my hair had gotten a little thinner a few years before my surgery, maybe it's because I had a hysterectomy back in 2001) I have heard that hair loss happens after WLS, despite whatever you do. But the hair does grow back. BTW--Conrads on the weight loss. I also think ground flax seed is important. I'm using it daily because I'm on high dosage of iron since my bleeding ulcer, and I definitely don't want to get constipated! (the ulcer is much better now, thanks to the meds I'm taking) --Sandi H. > Morning everyone! > > First off congrats on the new surgeries this week!
