Guest guest
I did 2 a couple months ago. I think that I had a bad reaction to the first one that had sugar in the solution. I say that because a couple days afterward I became sicker than I'd ever been in the 15 years that I've had UC. I had no reaction to the second one (done in the ER). They mixed it with diet ginger ale b/c that's what they had. I don't know if other people react that way, but that's what happened with me Stacey > > having one done tues - can I expect to have D reaction etc from barium even though it's " safe for celiacs/has no sugar " > eileen > 21 months scd >
Guest guest
If anything, the barium could cause a little bit of constipation, unless you keep up your water. It has nothing in it that should cause the runs. jena Husband crohns Radiographer having one done tues - can I expect to have D reaction etc from barium even though it's " safe for celiacs/has no sugar " eileen21 months scd
Guest guest
Personally, I've never had a problem with the contrasts. I've got a CT enterography next month, so hopefully it will continue to ring true post surgery. Guest guest
If anything, the barium could cause a little bit of constipation, unless you keep up your water. It has nothing in it that should cause the runs. The barium can set up like quick-drying cement afterwards if you don't use a laxative or enough enemas to get rid of it. I had that once and had to drink a whole bottle of Milk of Magnesia to fix it. It could be a real problem if you don't clear it out right afterwards. So no, I don't think you have to worry about diarrhea!
