,

Both of my twin boys ( and ) at one time or another were on Guanfacine AKA Tenex for there ADHD. They did well for a while and now are on Strattera. Tenex has a side effect of weight gain which my sons were active enough and skinny prior to the start due to previous stimulant use. It is actually a blood pressure medication and therefore can cause low blood pressure or can cause dizziness with sudden rising up such as out of bed in the morning. We did use it for several years and saw few side effects from it.

Tomorrow we see the psychiatrist for . Since our switch from Tenex and Wellbutrin to Strattera and Wellbutrin he has developed horrible tics. Sometimes they use Tenex for those with Tourette's so I don't know if being off of it is the cause for the tics or a new side effect for him of the Strattera. Strattera is the new nonstimulant and of course is not supposed to have the side effects of the other stimulants.

and are not suspected mito as of yet. I believe they may have some soft signs, though. Of course Lucas who is suspected mito doesn't even have a confirmed mito diagnosis. HTH,

Loriann

P.S. I am going to ask the doctor about a PANDAS (pediatric autoimmune neuropyschiatric disorder syndrome) with regards to . The tics came on when we increased his Strattera dose and by decreasing it it did not do anything. during the same period of time, complained of a bad sore throat for about a week. A strep test was negative.
