Guest guest
Hi there folks! We are so excited to let you know we just made it to 3000 hits in less than two weeks! Balls have already begun arriving at our home and around the country! We are just thrilled with the response and can't wait to see what happens on May 26th. Fred and I were talking today about how it really is going to buffer an otherwise sad day! We have been contacted by the Commercial Appeal and Fox 13 News who will be doing stories on the Project and our family. The Commercial Appeal will run a story on Sunday, May 23rd in thier East Memphis Neighborhood section. You can find it by going to www.gomemphis.com and clicking on Neighborhood and then East. I will cut and paste the article for you when it runs too. Fox 13 has been a long-time supporter of the Wells family. They first contacted us when was about 18 months old and wanted to do a story on transracial adoption. They used it more than once and also ran a story on our fundraiser Project 2:7. Then they did a very long story on us about our Make-a-wish story--we still get recognized from that one! They were very sad to hear we lost 's physical presence in our lives and the news director said they were going to do a really good story on the Project next week. He and I both got very excited when we remembered they had actually footage from 2002 of our family playing ball with . I will let everyone know when it is going to air. I hope you have had time to enjoy the website and forward it on to friends and family (and ask them to do the same). I heard from 's Mitochondrialist in Boston about the website and he said this: ""Let me say how beautiful and moving 's website is; it shows a wonderful love for and for life in general. And it pulls people together-to smile, to cry, to reflect. It's a nice place to rest while on the intert; like park, it has some places to be quiet, some places with a lot of activity, perhaps a place where you'll meet a friend...and the ball project-how personal, how giving, how terrific! is remembered and has many many friends." www.LifeofLoveProject.org I hope you have felt the same...have gotten to know , if you didn't have the privilege of meeting him and really let the project captivate your heart! If you are still stumped for ideas on how to give, take a look at the guestmap and guestbook and see what others have shared. Or you can email me for ideas! Also, remember if you live in the Memphis area, you can bring your donation here if you would rather, and it will go to the Neighborhood School. If you need a ball pick-up, just let us know. Please share the project with your email lists...I know people love to forward things and there is nothing I would rather get in my mailbox than something like this. (We have flyers if you are interested in putting them up at your work or church.) We would love to have someone in every state participate, as well as, every country we can get! Thanks so much...we are overwhelmed...we'll be in touch! deb...mom to three great adopted kids...
