Guest guest
Hi I just had my one year check up following my reconstructive surgery. I talked to both Steve and Dr Yokoo about the struggles Im facing. Im so confused!!! I began doing 4 shakes a day per the timer plan, plus cut my calories to under 900 calories, not counting the shakes. Counting the shakes Im averaging about 1200 calories. But Im still not losing at all!!! Ive regained 10 pounds. Im at 160 !! To say the least Im frustrated. I cannot eat less than what Im already eating!!! My only vice has been starbucks. I had 3 last week, but I dont think they should make that much of a difference!!! But Im going off them all together. Im going to try making them at home using a mix I got at the low carb store or with my protein alone. Steve also recommends only two shakes a day....if that. He would probably prefer I give them up all together. I dont know what to do. For the first year post op I didnt do them, then started them because everyone says we need them. I do feel better doing them and they do keep me from grazing. What should I do!!!!! I need to get this weight coming off again!!! Guest guest
, hon, how do you feel about asking your regain question on the grad list? I wish i could help you, but I have no answers. Maybe they will. What do the people on your off track list have to say? I'm so sorry! You work hard, and deserve to be at your goal weight. I don't know anyone who works harder. Big hug, Laurie __________________________________________________
Guest guest
I'm so sorry ! I'm a newbie so I'm not sure any advice I have will be of any use. I know in the past (before WLS), when I experienced this, I upped my calorie intake by 100-200 calories a day and that usually did the trick. I know, for me, I have to have enough calories or I just don't lose any weight -- in fact, I can gain weight! Doesn't make sense to me really but it worked. How's your exercise these days? Water? How many grams of protein do you get in a day? Tina > Hi I just had my one year check up following my reconstructive surgery. > I talked to both Steve and Dr Yokoo about the struggles Im facing. Guest guest
Barbara may be right, - have you checked your measurements at all over time? My DH isn't going for surgery (doesn't think I should, either, but that's another story!) but he's working out hard to control his blood sugars and get his fat levels down. Not too concerned about weight, just fat. . . so he's been having me measure him, chest and waist, once a week to keep track of his progress. As long as he keeps losing girth he figures he's building muscle and losing fat. And I know you're working out a lot, so it might be that's what's going on with you. . . Guest guest
I asked Dr Yokoo that same question...since I just ran a marathon. She said it could be PARTLY muscle as my pants are tighter in the calf and butt...runner's muscles. That could be part of it but I dont want to get into rationalizing all of it. > > > > > > , hon, how do you feel about asking your regain > > > question on the grad list?
