Guest guest
I am concerned about the dark brown vomit that my daughter has been having. The past few times she has been sick, her vomit has been very dark brown, even when her stomach is empty and it is just liquid. She does have mild reflux. She was on Propulsid when she was very young, but taken off of medication because the reflux issue diminished. Lately, it seems to be getting worse again. The dark brown color makes me think that it could have something to do with blood, i.e. if the reflux was irritating her esophagus. Does anyone have any thoughts on this? Thank you so much, in advance, for any information you could give. mom to Haylee, age 5, cox deficiency
Guest guest
My daughter has reflux, but has never had the dark brown vomit. The first thing I thought of was blood, also. I do know that even without vomiting she still may be refluxing enough to cause alot of irritation, and this can bleed. Also my daughter was also off her Prevacid for almost a year, and just about a month ago she had to start back on it. I would definatly call her GI, they will probally want to do an endoscopy to see what is going on down there. Best wishes.
