Just wanted to checkin here--I had my 3 wks ckup yesterday (it was

only 17 days post-op), but next monday is a holiday.

The appt went better than I had expected--you know how it goes, i

probably only lost a couple of pounds was beating in my brain.

I step up on that scale & tears came to my eyes...I could not believe

what I saw...I was down a total of 42lbs. I lost 15lbs in the 10

days between my april 23rd consult & my may 4th surgery & then an

additional 27lbs in the 17days since surgery.

Let me tell you, I have been so determined not to say my weight out

loud..my husband went with me & he didnt even know--well, he does now

because they speak quite freely there..the numbers the bmi, the

weight, the pounds--whatever. My doctor was very pleased & wasnt

afraid to tell me so---I loved that...he went out into the hall

telling people that I had lost almost 50lbs--a person could just tell

that he was so thrilled.

So, I will be having my part 2, according to dr inabnet the end of

august or early september. I am already almost half way to the goal

of 100lbs before part 2.

Everyday post op gets a bit better with the energy/fatigue & I am

learning to feed my body just what it needs & wants. Fortunately, I

have been able to experience the " full feeling " since immediately

following surgery...so I didnt hve to spit up much. My tastes have

changed & I no longer have certain cravings that I did pre-op (like

sweets & salty things)...I hope that benefit of surgery stays with

me...it will certainly be key in my reaching my goal for part 2 by

the end of summer.

My bowels operate just fine--no rank odors, just a little looser than

pre-op. And, I do appreciate the opportunity to learn the tools &

tricks of my small tummy without the bowels--then i will have that

opportunity in a few months. I have to respect & appreciate you all

that did it all at once.

take good care
