Guest guest
You should definatly bring this up at his appointment. Low blood sugar, though, is very common with mito. I guess it is an autonomic dysfunction thing. We fight this battle all the time with Grace. A couple of good alternatives is to keep a couple packs of smarties with you, they are a quick anywhere boost. Also if nighttime is a problem, raw cornstarch will keep the blood sugar up during the night (but can cause constipation in some people). Dr. Cohen reccomended giving Grace peanut butter (another complex carbohydrate), he said chuncky is best. If your child can safely chew nuts, they are even better. Best wishes, this can be a tough battle at times.
